A Comparative Study on Quality of Work Life (QWL) Among Public and Private Hospital Nurses in Coimbatore

Abstract:

Quality of Work Life (QWL) alludes to the idealness or unfavourableness of a work domain for individuals. The fundamental reason for existing is to create employments that are good for individuals us well with respect to generation. The aim of this chapter is to compare the quality of work life among public and private hospital nurses in Coimbatore. The study adopted descriptive research design and purposive random sampling technique by which 548 nurses have been included as respondents. The results indicated occupational stress is significantly different among the respondents based on age, educational qualification, salary, designation and span of service of the nurses. Also, the youngsters and age group above 55 years are highly stressed whose QWL is in trouble.
