Study of Women Empowerment and Skill Development Through Home Science Education

Abstract:

Home science extension education was Multidisciplinary, Action oriented, need base program. It is a two way process - Home Science extension established a two-way communication channel by bridging the gap between Skill Development research and the beneficiaries. Home Science extension education aims at action and results. Home Science Extension Education played a Subjective role in empowering women by supporting practical, vocational training, and life skills essential for improving socio-economic status. This study explores the impact of Home Science Extension programs on women's empowerment and skill development in both rural and urban. It highlights how knowledge dissemination through training in tailoring, food preservation, handicrafts, childcare. Entrepreneurship had enabled women to gain confidence, Economical independence, and improved decision-making power. The paper uses both quantitative and Observational methods to analyze data from 100 women participants. These programs enhance women's capabilities to contribute productively to their families and communities. In rural areas, where traditional roles dominate, these programs helped to break socio-economic barriers. There was no compulsion on the people to participate in home science extension programs. The results indicate a significant improvement in revenue generation, awareness among women, with slight variation between rural and urban beneficiaries.
