The primary objective of the paper is to study the extent of rural women empowerment through various income-generating activities. Kadapa (YSR) district is one of the pioneering districts for implementation of DWCRA as pilot project in the State of Andhra Pradesh along with Srikakulam and Adilabad districts. Presently, there are 51 Mandals in Kadapa district which consists of 35,338 SHGs.
