Edge Adaptive Image Steganography in DWT Domain
S. Priya and A. Amsaveni
Abstract:
Non-adaptive and adaptive algorithms are used for edge based LSB steganography and various papers present the results of these algorithms. In this project LSB based Edge Adaptive Image Steganography is analyzed. In this edge adaptive scheme, the embedding regions are selected according to the size of secret message and the difference between two consecutive pixels in the cover image. For lower embedding rates, only sharper edge regions are used while keeping the other smoother regions as they are. When the embedding rate increases, more edge regions can be released adaptively for data hiding by adjusting just a few parameters. This project presents a novel technique for image steganography based on DWT, where DWT is used to transform original image (cover image) blocks from spatial domain to frequency domain. Firstly a gray level image of size M ? N is divided into no joint 8 ? 8 blocks and a two dimensional Discrete Wavelet Transform(2-D DWT) is performed on each of the 64 blocks. In these non overlapping blocks, the edge adaptive image stenography techniques are used. Edge adaptive stenography on frequency domain improves security and image quality compared to the edge adaptive stenography on spatial domain.
